War heros of fair Buhi town,
To you we humbly raise,
This fond memorial as a crown,
So you all men might praise.When Buhi youths in days
of old,
Went marching off to war,
A solemn dirge our church bells toiled,
For their unlucky stary.
But when you
answered the clear call
To fight for liberty,
For motherland, for loved ones all.
And for Democracy.
Only a few knew
when you left.
Our church bells did not ring;
To loved ones who would feel bereft
Sad thoughts they'd only bring --
Of hunger,
thirst, of heat and cold,
Of constant loneliness,
Of countless miseries untold.
Of fears that never cease.
Our unsung heros
are you all --
We bow our heads to you;
Promptly you answered duty's call
With steadfast heart and true.
Heros too those
you left behind.
This we should not forget:
The wounds unseen in heart and mind
Maybe the deeper yet.
To you who
passed the supreme test.
Whose death helped make us free,
We say: "Dulce et Decorum est
Pro Patria Mori".
